Self-introduction
Hello! My name is Lucas Sort, and I’m a postdoctoral researcher at iTHEMS in the Mathematical Genomics Research Unit (led by Dr. Leo Speidel). My work at iTHEMS focuses on the statistical analysis of DNA to identify signatures of evolutionary processes such as selection or migration. Recently, I obtained my Ph.D. in Statistics and Machine Learning from Université Paris-Saclay after working on the development of new statistical approaches for studying longitudinal data. More generally, I’m interested in how we can apply Mathematics, and more precisely, Statistics, to solve problems encountered in Biology and Medical Sciences.
