Mathematics Connecting to the World: One S&T poster for Every Household

The Ministry of Education, Culture, Sports, Science, and Technology (MEXT) produces an educational resource called “One S&T Poster for Every Household” each year in April to coincide with Science and Technology Week. For the 2024 edition, the theme selected is “Mathematics Connecting to the World,” planned by the RIKEN Interdisciplinary Theoretical and Mathematical Sciences Program (iTHEMS). The downloadable image has been made available on the Science and Technology Week page of the MEXT website. The poster is being distributed to elementary schools, junior high schools, high schools, universities, as well as science museums and other public facilities. Focusing on the theme of using mathematics as a tool to understand and find answers to questions about the world, the poster presents various examples illustrating how mathematics is applied in our daily lives.
